The Self Proclaimed Villian

I have a rather bad addiction to the television show "Arrested Development." If you get me started watching one episode, it is likely that I will find the time to watch the rest in succession. And although I do love it with all my heart, I haven't watched it in sometime because I was getting a little tired of the three-seasoned story. At first I could watch it and always find a new punchline, but I don't think there are any more hidden complexities for me to explore, so I tend to only put it on per requests.

But recently, there has been more and more internet gossip about the likelihood of an AD movie. How amazing would that be!?!? This was alluded to in the series finale, but its reality has only recently been coming into fruition. However, there is one AD actor that doesn't share the writers, producers, and cast members excitement about the project. Mr. Michael Cera. O' the days before Juno, when you were pint-size, awkward George Michael. I sure hope his "Superbad" attitude doesn't ruin the fun for the rest of us.

Also, hit the link to read an old interview by him. We officially (and hypothetically) broke up after I read this.

Raquel Caysido poses for a picture after being named "Pikachu" during a rousing game of "guess who?" Because who doesn't love seeing an asian be a little more asian.

sidenote: I have no idea what the name of the game we were playing was, I just made that up.

A New Blog, A New Year, A New Habit, A New President

That title is only an abbreviated version of all the changes I have been encountering over the last few weeks. But it is also likely that anything I post from here on out, is only to be an annotated version of my life. So to start, I will make this blog and its title short and sweet.

As some of you know, my computer's keyboard was out of commission for quite sometime. And it was about a week after I could no longer use my spacebar or type u, 7, ; (semicolon), ' (apostrophe), that I got the urge to write a blog. However, thanks to my wonderful, loving parents, and a blessing from the gods that the water damage didn't spread to the hard drive, my computer and new keyboard reunited and became an unstoppable blogging force. Mostly the force has been compelling me to seek and read, rather than sit and write. And although I could see the theme I wanted and various possible post subjects, all of my words were blurry.

For the last three years, I have had a countdown widget reminding me that soon, this day will come. It's numbers were rolling back to the moment George W. Bush leaves office. I have only been on this planet for a short period of time, and more than half of it has been spent with a Bush in office. So, rather then doing the thousands of errands I should have taken care of today, I made some lunch and watched Barack Obama be sworn into office. This is the sort of life experience I have been waiting for. And I will admit here, I am little worried for what these next few years hold. At least while the Bush's were in office, I could always count on being disappointed. But President Barack Obama is inspiring hope and raising our expectations of him and our nation. Because of this, I have been playing the skeptic, and hoping he doesn't disappoint. But today, watching his twenty minute inaugural address, I caught the fever. I felt the change. I got inspired. And I started this blog.

Here's to hoping that no other Bush serves in public office and that our cyber paths will meet again.
